depends on the base circle of the cam, head gasket, and whether or not your heads are milled

If its a cam only car, 7.4 should be ok.

thanks!
yeah the base circle of the cam will be smaller than stock which requires a longer pushrod to obtain proper lifter preload. The best way to know for sure what size you need is to measure with a pushrod checking tool.

if anything you may need longer ones. alot of people have to run 7.425 or so on xer lobes to keep around .080 thousandths preload, but as said the best way is to check.

Well he may be running stock length, but his lifter preload if off then and i bet he has a bunch of valvetrain noise.

BTW a pushrod checker is like $20, its a cheap tool that is good to have.
