When are you pulling the heads off Chase? If I can spare a minute, I'll come by and give you a hand.

Sorry to see your valves in that shape. I can get anything you need from comp, pm me, Buddy.

Do the rocker bolts extend into the intake port when assembled? Just curious

That's one reason I do an annual oil analysis, it helps pick up these types of problems before they get bad without opening the motor. Your wear metals would have shown up high and then you need to start looking. Good catch though, probably saved the lower end

Would also like to know since my do as well.

I recently had a hole in my intake runner which caused me to hydrolock my block and break the starter ear off. Wont say where the heads come from though. Bad things is because of this I paid to have a new motor build and now the damn thing spun a bearing after 1000k miles. Its like a spiral downwards...

Just curious, wouldn't this cause turbulence in the incoming air flow? Why couldn't one grind the tip off to make it more flat?

Yes it would. And some people do grind the bolt end down to get it out of the runner.

So you're going to have to pay out of pocket for Ferrera valves (don't they suck?), when it's Patriot's fault? How is that good service? I'd cut somebody!

im the third owner of these heads.. i bought them used with some good mileage and freshened up from a friend.

btw.. patriot helped me out BIG TIME.... freakin gunnar is unbelievably customer service oriented! ended up paying nothing for the valves and he also threw in new valve seals while he was at it...

free valves and seals to the third customer that they made no money off of = MAJOR customer for life right here!
