Will a leak down test determine If the rings are going bad? Dipstick pops out wondering If a leak down test will help?

Your dipstick popping up is a sign of excessive crankcase pressure.
Do a search on this forum we got a a discussion goin on about it.

BTW dude you should get that checked out ASAP. You could try runnin a breather to see if that helps.
