Default My head flow numbers

These are partial I will get the rest tomorrow at ARE...

2.02 int. 1.57 exh.

987-16 double springs/comp tit retainers 1.46"

heads cut .035", chamber cc 58

compression is around 10.7:1 where my pistons are sunk in the hole slightly in the 360.

With a stock shortblock I would be 11.2:1...

int flow @ .600 lift 298.7cfm,

Int. port volume is 227cc +/- 1

exh. flow @ .600 lift was 227 with no extension or stack! (this adds about 20cfm!)

No exhaust runner cc's

There you have it, not bad for 2.02 and 1.57 valves and LS1 5.3L truck heads! Needless to say I am happy

Cam specs are:

226/234 112LSA .554 .575 lift intake and exhaust

Cheers,
Chris

Pretty good flow numbers! I run the older MMS 5.3L stage 2 port, and have similar numbers. When are you going to run low 11s?

Thanks for the information Chris. I will be flow testing my ARE Stage II heads (2.055 1.60 valves)in the next few weeks.

How do you like that cam? I currently have the B1 cam that you sold me and I am going to upgrade to an ARE spec cam. You used to have a B1, sold it to me and then bought a B1 later on correct? How does the ARE cam compare to the B1?

Thanks
Hopefully low-mid 11's@119+ mph will be possible this saturday when I get my rev limiter fixed and hopefully a hooking track Raceweight is 3475 with my 200 pound carcass in the car.

My shortblock combo is ARE's 360 shortblock
Ross forged racing pistons, forged rods, and offset ground stock crank. Hope this helps..

The 226/234 cam idles rougher than the B1 but not terribly so. You will need programming with the 226/234 cam but it makes MAD power.

I really enjoy it. ARE's heads like the 226/234 cams... ONYXSS ran 11.14@123mph 1.57 sixty with the same cam as I except S2 heads. He is gone a little more aggressive now but should have 10.80's no problem with everything is sorted out.

I think Richie C. ran 11.5x@122.xx mph with that cam and ARE S2s as well in a six speed...
Cheers,
Chris

That's not what I call a stage I head....227cc intake ports. Good flow numbers though. What cc are the stage II's then??

hmm I dont know I am sure someone can chime in.
I think the stage 1, stage 2 naming conventions is meaningless anyways....

Some companies (ARE and MTI) call their 2.02/1.57 combos Stage 1 while others (MMS, GTP and JPR call them S2)

The 2.05/1.60 valved heads are called S2 by some companies and S3 by others LOL.

I compare valve sizes when comparing heads generally.

Cheers,
Chris

Went to ARE and had my rev limit issue fixed. Problem was in the fact that my car was an M6 converted to an A4.

A rpm parameter that normally wouldnt matter did
One little change and everything is perfect.
Rev limit at 7Krpm where it belongs..

Removed the foglights, AIR Pump, and Cruise Control as well this afternoon so I should be a little lighter too.

Borrowing Wades 26x11.5 ET streets and also bringing the 28s to compare the differences. Car is clean loaded and ready to go
Wish me luck!
