Default Simple bottom end build question

I have a bare block and all my parts that need to go in it, but, my simple question is, when I install the cam, and install the crank, put the gears on, etc, etc, and I line the crank and the timing gear up, dot to dot, where should my pistons be? #1 at TDC?

Pistons 1 & 6 will be at TDC with the timing gears dot-to-dot.

Yeah Yeah, I know it should be. This will be my first build.. I just don't know, and don't remember seeing it in the Helms books.
