Default Technical Valve Job question

First off, all this will be pertaining to a set of 5.3l truck heads that are getting 2.00 Manley intake valves and the stock 1.55 exhaust valves.

I was reading Brian Tooley's (TEA Heads genius) article on gaining 10 cfm from just a valve job, and I really want to maximize the effects of the valve job on these heads. In their tests, TEA put a 37, 45, and 60 angle combination on the valves. This was on a ford, but do the same angles apply to flow on ls1 heads instead of the generic 30,45,60 angles that most machine shops use? Also, as far as choosing machine shops, how difficult is it for a shot to set up the angles for the valve job, like if I wanted 37 degrees instead of 30.

I do valve jobs.

It's not hard at all to set the angle. My valve machine can be set to anything you desire.

Where is the article written by Tooley? I'd like to read it.

Someone want to comment on what a 5 angle valve job is? I have an idea, but would not mind hearing some info from an expert.

A 5 angle is where the seats are cut with 5 angles instead of just 3. It is suppose to promote better valve seating. When I had a GTX with a 440 in it I had the valves cut to 5 angles because of the 11.5 compression and running 600 HP.

TO find most of his stuff you gotta go looking around in the Ford pits, since he mostly does Ford work. His LS1 heads are really goo though
Brian Tooley Article on Valve Jobs

It's a good article. He basically says the same stuff that Dave Vizzard says in his book about porting small blcok chevy heads, and Building Budget Chevy Small Blocks.

Pick those to books up, there's alot to read and learn there.

It's not better seating that you're looking for from a 5 angle valve job. It's a more gentle curve on the valve seat for intake and exhaust gasses going into and out of the combustion chamber. This promotes better flow numbers.
