I'm putting a cam in my friends Z06 this weekend, my question is. Can i use my instructions that have pics and torque specs for an LS1 motor, as the Z06 has an LS6? Does it even make a differance? I would think there the same. Thanks

They are the same. As a matter of fact, the only difference between the '01 and '02 LS1 and the LS6 is the heads and cam. The blocks and intakes are the same.

Really? The blocks are the same? So does that mean 2001 f-bodys have an LS6 block? I thought the LS1 and LS6 block had internal differences (passages to alow for better bore to bore flow of air in order to reduce crankcase pressure). Thats cool if this is so. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Yes, it is true. Sometime during the '00 or '01 model year once the LS1 castings were all used, the switch to the LS6 casting was made. All LS1's now use the LS6 block. If you go to a dealership to order an LS1 block, the part #'s for both LS1 and LS6 are the same.
