Default Resize stock rods?

If I am replacing the bearings and bolts in the bottom end of my motor do I need to have the stock rods resized?

TTT

since the rod bolts are essentially capscrews I'd like to know why/if its necessary to resize <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

A normal rod is resized by grinding a small amount of material from the parting surface of the rod big end, and then reboring it with the rod bolts torqued in place.

The LS1 uses a 'cracked' rod. The parting surfaces aren't ground smooth, but are left in the 'broken' state. I haven't heard of any technique of resizing the rod big ends on an LS1.
