I have a shop installing MMS stage 2 heads and a MMS 224/224 cam for me. They are really pushing to use their springs (MMS springs), which I have heard break within 7k miles. I wanted to do the 918's but they tell me that they have seen more failures with the 918's than with their own springs. Will setting the install height of the spring wrong cause them to break easier? What would be the install height of 918's? 1.800"? Think I should go with the 918's or the MMS springs? It will be reved to 6600 rpm.
Thanks, really appreciate the help.

Thanks for the replies. Think I will tell them to put in the 918's. Any recommendation on what to set the install height at? is 1.800" cool with no shims?
Thanks again

I've read od only a single break of a 918--and it wasn't the spring that was to blame for it--
I have heard on a handful of MMS breaks-- There is absolutely no question whatsoever that I'd use the 918's again-- they are on my car now, with a 226 .591 112 cam winding to 6900RPM, and are just fine--with no float <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

I didn't use shims with my .558 lift.
Once when I had shims from ARE with K-750's there was chewed up shim metal all in the valvecovers and throughout the engine I'm sure.
