Default oil pressure down .. patman and co. needed

I just tryed out the new mobil one 10w30 oil on my car (98z w/53K on it, with about 5K on the new 01" oil pump) and was sitting in traffic today in HOT florida and my oil pressure came down to a record low of almost 20!!! It usually sits right under 40 and when i got back to the shop i let it cool off and started it a couple of hours later and went back to idle at under 40 again. Its bein progressivley decreasing oil pressure at idle, and im constantly checking my oil guage. I have the Inline filters with the catch can for the pcv mod and probally isnt helping running 50/50 dex and water. Im gonna try running 80% water and 20% dexcrap and a bottle of water wetter with my 160 stat..i did notice my car running alittle hot, but cant tell due to the inacurate of these guages. Do you think amsoil with a bigger filter could help oil pressure? Im using the mobil one small filter right now.. Thanks for any help.

When I put inline fuel filter for my PCV my oil pressure dropped 5 psi the first day. I took the filter right off. I also use M1 5w30 in fl. my pressure is usually just over 40 at idle when warmed up, and around 38 ps1 when hot in traffic.

Nasty: You're using 5W in FL? I didn't think it was safe to use that in our heat...? I've got a 98Z with 58K miles, btw.

My oil pressure went down after the last oil change. My PVC system is completely stock and I've always used 10W30 in my car.

The 2nd-to-last oil change I used the small Mobil1 filter with 6qts of M1 oil. Oil pressure at idle was slightly over 40psi, and at cruise was halfway to the next higher mark.

This last time I used the same type & quantity of oil, but switched to the large filter. At idle pressure is ~30psi, and at cruise it's slightly above 40psi.

Based upon what I've read about the M1 30 weights shearing, I want to move to Amsoil or Redline 10W30. However, I haven't really concluded which is better disregarding cost. Dunno about filters though...I heard Ultraguard Gold was the best, but also that they were being discontinued.

I have always run 10/30 mobil 1 in my car. I have always lived in florida and always run a 10w30 in all my cars.
