Default Why are LS1 lifters noisy?

Do LS1 lifters bleed down a little at idle to "hide" the cam (I know its small, but still) for better emissions/idle quality and then pump up fully at high rpms? I dont know if I phrased this correctly, but what I am trying to ask is is the LS1 lifter chattery like a Rhodes style lifter for the same reasons?

PS. I am not whining about it. Just wanting to know if its another cool thing us LS1 guys got, or just something we deal with?

they are a fast bleed lifter, so it will produce noise.

The LS1 isn't that small of a cam compared to some other cars, especially the 1998-whenever they moddified it, the intake manifold, and the exhaust manifold.

It has under .500 lift. In my book, that makes it small.

The lifter in itself is not noisy. The GM LS1 lifter is the same as used in the LT1's and they generated no excessive valvetrain noise. The LS1 itself seems to be more of a audible engine compared to the earler Gen SBC's. Might be just due to the aluminum block.

Really?

Hrmmm...2 opposing opinions. I want to belive I have special lifters damnit!

Seriously though. The truth would be nice. Anyone know FOR SURE? (maybe Lt1 are fast-bleed too but the iron block hides the noise?)

Both lifters are the same. You put some aluminum valve covers on an LT1, and it is very noisy.
