Does Thunder racing do custom cam grinds?

Does Thunder racing do custom cam grinds? It is obvious they know what they are doing over there and was wondering if they do custom grinds.I was looking at a 230/230 duration and 580/580 lift.I think it would do good <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> .I really dont care to much if I lose some low end torque hell it might actually help me hook with my tp4000.

Re: Does Thunder racing do custom cam grinds? Give Geoff a call and let him know what you want to do. He will most likely give you his recommendation but utimately it is up to you what you want. They custom order cams all the time.

Re: Does Thunder racing do custom cam grinds? You could probably order a cam through Thunder. But. They won't be the ones who grind it. And, just 'cause *you* want such-and-such a spec doesn't mean the grinder (probably Comp) is gonna CAD it for you.
You need to call Comp first and ask *them* what can be done w/in the parameters you want (lift, duration, LSA. Also, you might want to discuss valve events w/ them as far as what you want for a powerband.) Comp has CAD'ed a bunch of different lobe profiles to accomplish a variety of ambitions. Get the numbers of the lobe profiles (and their specs).
Then- call Thunder and talk to 'em (I always seem to wind up talking to Dave) and order your cam your way...
