Default Aggressive Cams and Cylinder Washdown?

My buddy just got the new TR 230/224 .569/.563 111 LSA cam today. That thing is a beast. It idles like crazy. We turned on the AC while idling and it almost died but then revved it a little and it died on the down rpms. Thats pretty damn aggressive isn't it? It isn't tuned yet so the idle is still pretty rough. My questions is this: One of the first things I told my friend within seconds of seeing his car was that I could smell unburned fuel. My father said that because of the aggressive overlap in the new cam, the engine isn't burning all of the fuel. He said this causes, 'cylinder washdown' which pretty much means that the unburned fuel in the cylinders is taking the oil off of the cylinder walls causing the internals to rub metal to metal. I was wondering if that will change once the car is tuned? Can they tune how much fuel enters the engine at lower RPM so that he would be burning all of the fuel in the cylinders? I'm asking because I'm a little jealous after hearing and driving in his car. I don't want a cam that aggressive, mainly because of wear and tear on the engine like what my father mentioned but also resell value&condition and emmissions.
Someone suggested to me a TR 224/224 .561/.561 114 LSA set-up. They said its good for 390rwhp? How far into the RPM range will this cam take the engine to? Will it still pass emissions? What about the amount of wear and tear on my engine? I'm only planning on a cam and headers, no heads. Of course the usual will follow, LS6 Intake, MAF, TB, 12 bolt(last unfortunately.) What about 4.11's and an ASP Crank Pulley? I'm thinking they would do alot in getting the engine up through the RPM's faster. Thanks-Mike W.

I wouldnt necessarily say that is caused by the new cam. My car is bone stock besides a few little things like catback, lid, ect. and it also has gutted cats. I can ALWAYS smell unburned gas when I stand behind the car while its running.

I wouldnt worry about "cylinder washdown" with a cam of that size. Sure its big, but as long as its not running pig rich, it'll be fine. How much time does a car spend at 800 rpms anyway? Once the engine speed comes up, it starts running better. As for the unburned fuel smell...there is not gasoline engine on the planet that will burn ALL of its fuel. Thats what catalytic converters are for. There are always unburned HCs in exhaust gas.
