upgrading my cam, looking for suggestions
Cam considerations: willing to work with Idle, although id prefer something that doesnt shake the entire car at idle. Want maximum power without clearance problems. Willing to go very aggressive. Ok I guess all that was obvious.
I was originally planning on the ARE spec 226/234 554/56x 112 I think, but I think I can do better. Plus Im impatient and have been waiting several months already for one to be in stock
How about the new thunder racing reverse split cams? Will I be able to get clearance with them?
230/224 .569/.563 111 LSA, or 227/224 .569/.563 114 LSA?
Any other recommendations?
Since my AFs, lack of knock, and very good timing do not seem to be the problem, my theory on that at the momment is a slipping clutch/tranny (which the car has been down over a month now trying to fix), or the fact that the intake valves are so big they are getting in the way, or possibly that the B1 cam just can't take advantage of the heads.
In any case, the results suck bad enough that I am trying to address all of these problems, and I just need to know how to figure out how big of a cam I can go with.
Heads are at ARE having double springs installed and Nick will inspect the heads
I am upgrading my cam to 226/226 .591/.591 112LSA
Replacing my stock clutch with McLeoud single disk
When everything is back together I am erasing ED Wright tuning and going to the dyno for wideband testing with LS1 Edit. Then I will visit the track for the "real test that matters" - track times <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
