Can I re-use the main caps' bolts?
I was checking out my bearings, they look fine so I'm ready to torque them back down.
1.) I assume I need to clean out the holes? (get the oil out)?

AFAIK, they aren't torque-to-yield, and can be reused. Just because the manual specifies to torque them with a torque angle meter, doesn't mean they're TTY. On the head bolts, the Helms manual states to use new bolts, whereas it doesn't say that for the mains. I reused mine in my last motor on that presumption...
Granted, I could be totally wrong on this subject.

GeorgeC,
I just read an article stating that all fasteners in the LS1 engine family were TTY but that engine builders usually only worry about changing the head and main bolts...

They are not TTY
I specifically asked Katech when i had my machine work done on the block.
I reused mine, and they said it'll be fine.

I wouldnt retorque the bolts more than a couple of times. Main bolts or studs are cheap insurance compared to the rest of the motor. If you were just inspecting bearings and did nothing else to the bottom end I think you'll be good to go with reusing them one more time. Next time I would definitely buy a set of ARP bolts for the mains. Same goes with the head bolts as well. A spun bearing can ruin an entire engine in a matter of seconds. My 2 cents anyway.

Stick a crowbar in the bank account <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> and dump out money for the ARP hardware. You will NEVER be sorry that you did!

If you have the funds ARP's are definately the way to go, but if not the stock bolts are definately re-useable.
I have re-used them multiple times on LS1's I have built.

Yes, ARP does make studs for our main caps. Part # 234-5608. Go to this web page to see for your self:
