Default Best mods for reliability/stability/etc.

What are the best mods to make sure that the engine stays together and to keep anything from failing? Would a ported oil pump be a good idea on a stock-headed engine? What are the best bolts to use throughout the engine? Are the forged rods/pistons any lighter than the stockers and where could I find out about them? Thanks a lot guys. I've been thinking of doing these as soon as I am ready to change my cam and valvetrain.

I do all the right kinds of maintenance, I'm just looking for some other things to do.
