So am I the only 2002 Z28 out there that is NOT burning oil? Woo-hoo!

You just hold your enthusiasm for a while. My car didn't burn oil untill about 9k miles. It started GULPING down the oil at 9k. The PCV sucks a helluva lot of oil in there, but also the rings are shot. Dunno why. The hell with GM though. I want it fixed right.

If so, could you share your experiences with us? I was thinking of getting a GReddy catch can setup but sofar it doesnt look like I need it.
Are you saying that if I look in my throttle body, I will see evidence of oil? Im not doubting you Im curious.

If you pull off the intake you will definately see it. The PCV systems on these cars just plain suck. MANY people have problems with rings on these ls1's as well. My car has both problems.
I guessalot of people don't think much of the oil consumption and just add oil. When I see cars running at the track almost all of the ls1's smoke more than any other car out there.
But I do have piston slap and lifter ticking at start up.
Go to oiltown.com and buy the Royal Purple 10W30 and you should notice a big difference including higher oil pressure and a smoother feel under high revs. If that doesn't work get the new PCV valve. It's about $3..
I drive my car daily but it's very short trip. I live 5 miles form work. At the time it stoped useing oil I drove to Myrtle Beach and back. I think maybe the rings finnaly sealed is why it stoped useing oil. All those short trips didn't give the car time to break in. My 2¢
