Don't bother trying to remove the bracket just use a prybar and bend the bracket outta the way. Then when you go to put it back together just bend it back in place with your hand. It is really easy <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

You removed the nut that is above the bracket BUT...there is a nut that is under the bracket also. It is a nut that is PART of the stud also, they are together. You have to use a open end wrench and go under the bracket and un-screw the nut-stud and it will come off. Or as earlier stated just bend it out of the ay.

ON the back side (corner of head) there is a bolt holding that assembly on. Just losen that bolt (dont remove it) and that last coil pack bolt will come off (no prying needed) If your going to remove your A.I.R pump/EGR valve anytime soon, this would be a good time to do it. That bolt that im telling you to losen, hold a "diverter valve" (not sure if thats the right terminalogy)
Rip that off, along with all the AIR/EGR tubes, and your done. Very simple... Goodluck.

Default Question for anyone who has removed valve covers from an 02 Camaro?

I am trying to remove my vavle covers so I can paint them. The problem I have is on the driver side there is a bracket on the last bolt that holds the coil pack down. I took the nut off but it still will not move. It feels like the bracket is bolted to the back of the head, and I have no idea how I am going to remove it.

I have removed the coil packs. Mine got hung up on a hose running across the back, it felt like it was still bolted down. Hope this helps.
