What the max rpm to spin an ls1
What the max rpm to spin an ls1 with damaging the main and rod bearings. I'm asking this because I've heard good and bad story's. Any input, idea's, suggestions??

Re: What the max rpm to spin an ls1
My primary concern wouldn't be the bearings, but the stock rods/rod bolts... The rods themselves aren't terribly weak, but the stock bolts leave much to be desired. With upgraded rod bolts and a well balanced rotating assembly, I don't think you'd have any problems up to 7200rpm or so. I wouldn't want to turn stock pistons/rods much more than that, personally...
