Need help removing harmonic balancer/crank pulley
Putting it back on is a different matter. You have to lube the center area with oil and get it started back in the hole. The crank bolt is not long enough to tighten at this point. I had a friend hold a 2x4 over the pulley and I hit the 2x4 with a hammer to seat it evenly until it was in far enough to where the crank bolt would thread. I then ran the crank bolt down with an impact gun (if you have air tools) until the pulley was fully seated. You then remove the old pulley bolt and thread in the new one. (bolts are only $2.50 from GM and you must use a new one because they are torque to yield) Torque the new crank bolt down to 37 ft lbs. then turn it an additional 140 degrees. Good luck, it sounds like alot but it's not hard at all.

Have fun!
in that case, u need an impact gun, but you may be able to put something through the pulley spokes, and wedge against the block to keep it from turning, like a prybar.
