MMS S2/224 Dyno..
Anyone who may have followed along were probably waiting for this post. I put the car up again and this time around, the MACs were replaced with LTs and the Flowmaster catback for the Mufflex. *I need someones assistance to upload this dyno sheet* I dont know too much about how to do it so maybe I can email it to someone? Anyway, 360 hp and 350 tq! Not pleased, again!! If anyone remembers, the MACs with Flowmaster catback gave 380 rwhp and 360 tq. I understood this deal was supposed to easily generate over 400 to the wheels. The only things left to upgrade are the stock flywheel and clutch and UD pulley (pulley not worth it to me). The MAF is by GMS. The car is a M6 and has a 3.73 rear. Someone please slap me and call me Tina cuz it seems like this dyno info is not that of S2 and 224 cam--or is it me? Much thanks to all who've given input along the way!

The exaust is hurting you also. Get a cutout and get it on the dyno with a wideband to check your A/F.
Remember that the numbers you see here are usually dialed in packages. And often it takes time on the dyno to get everything worked out for your car.
How much KR were you getting, timing?

Re: MMS S2/224 Dyno..
I just got my initial dyno numbers today for my 2001 vette.I'm running the stageIIx truck heads with the same cam, pully, aluminum flywheel. My exhaust consists of tpis long tubes an x-pipe and A B&B catback and still using cats.
My numbers were 402hp and 379tq and it still needs a little tweaking. The mechanic say's 410-415 should be easy to get.I'm at 6000'above sea level and the numbers are corrected but the air is still thin and the dyno run was in the heat of the day.
There has to be something else wrong besides the exhaust. Was the cam degreed properly? How about knock retard?
You should definatly make more power than that.I hope you get it sorted out soon.Best of luck.

The MMS spokesperson on this site is always talking about his "off the shelf" setup and how it isn't anything special.

I agree.
I love the sound of Flowmaster stuff on my rides but only the truck will get one.
Do you have the Mufflex with the Spintech or Flow muffler?
In either case I would get a cutout for dynoing.
Need to check your AF you might be pig rich.
Terry help the guy more!

Re: MMS S2/224 Dyno..
Why did you get rid of the MACs? They were definitely not your problem.
Are you running the 4 inch mufflex with flomaster muffler?
The problem is likely in the tuning...even stock heads with the 224 cam would make more power.

Uh..no..tons of people have swapped from macs to FLPs/grots/whatever, and for the most part, you just gain loads of lowend power. I myself gained 0rwhp at peak, and 35rwtq in the midranges going from macs to FLP's.
The macs are fine for topend power.

GO with 31 deg total timing, Get your air fuel around 12.3. It worked the best for me, believe it or not Ed Wright's mail order program was right on. I have macs with a random tech cat back and a cut out. This set up should get you 390-410rwhp with stock heads. Other wise get that cam degreed.

The header swap is controversial. Would the longer, smother collectors really provide any more hp or tq? At this time--its yet to be seen. The Mufflex system uses the Spin Tech muffler with ORP. Like I mentioned, I'd like to upload the dyno graph but I dont know how. I could email it to someone? Again, I am pending another dyno session in another week. This time around, I'll gather as much info as possible.

Re: MMS S2/224 Dyno..
I'd:
-Run a cutout before the catback and see if you pick up a lot, I am curious.
-Use a wideband, 12.5:1---12.8:1 AF is perfect.
-Go for 25-28 degrees of timing.
-Long tubes help for sure, won't hurt at all.

Re: MMS S2/224 Dyno..
I picked up 14rwhp over my 3.5" mufflex by installing a 3" cut out on each side of the y pipe.I remove six nuts at the track and get 14 hp. Did mike tune your car on the dyno? Could make a differance over mail order tunning.

Re: MMS S2/224 Dyno..
I went from 427rwhp to 442 rwhp with the addition of a 3.5" cutout on my 3.5" Mufflex w/ the spintech muffler.
I would look into the tuning first. Then, go from there.
