Default how to build oil pressure??

i just put in a fresh motor in ,i put oil in (duh!) and poured some in the oil filter. i tried cranking the motor with the injector harness unpluged so that the oilpump could prime.
the only problem is after cranking the motor for some time and then connecting the harness the motor fires right up but no oil pressure, even after a few seconds. i tried this several times but no oil pressure????

what could be wrong???
is there a certain procedure to prime the pump??
could the oild pressure sender be bad??
any thing i check other tha what i stated???

You either have a bad oil pump, bad/unplugged Oil sending unit, or forgot the rubber o-ring where the oil pump pickup goes into the oil pump.

Did you assemble the motor yourself?

the oil is the moded one from agustino. i'm sure i have o ring on the pick up. and i'm sure the sender is plugged in.

could the sender be bad??? are they sensitive to shock ( i.e. dropping)?? is there a way to check if the sender is bad??

does anyone know how long it takes a new motor to build pressure??
i know that when you change your oil , and especially when you pun in a new oil filter with out pouring some oil in it, it takes a while for the oil presure guage to register anything.
so could a new motor without oil in it's passages take longer?

You should have oil pressure in 2-3 seconds or so, even the first time you fired up the new engine.

The easiest thing to do would be to swap in a new oil pressure sending unit. I'd bet that solves your problem. I wouldn't run the car until you're sure, though...
