The formula is getting a Raging cam!
Well, we decided to go ahead and put a single pattern 230 in the formula and see what we gain over the b1. It's a little more aggressive than the cam we put in Gators car and we'll have to pull all the stops with LS1edit and drill out the TB to get it to idle decent. Already have the cam in the car but just need to find a couple hours today to get the valvesprings changed over.

this car is going to be amazing! my car idles nice, i bet you will get the car to idle well with your combo! esp with the extra little bit of compression you have over me! and as for MORE power, DAMN! you are STARTING with 435 RWHP! how the hell are you going to squeeze more power out of the head and cam package????
i know you will succeed! i cant wait to see the dyno results!

Sounds like fun! I too got rid of my B1 in favor of a 230+ 110 lsa cam <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Jason the compression ratio is about 11:1..they are just S2 5.7 EMT heads milled .030. This will be pretty tight with the PTV clearance but it should be alight with 8 degrees of advance ground into it...lol. (jk kidding about the advance)
Gator, I'm sure hoping the cam lives up to what is expected.
You guys seem just as excited as I am. any guesses on where it will peak versus the b1 at 6300rpm?

Well, it suuuuuuuuuuure sounds tough now! Has the idle I always wanted. Back in the day when the B1 was huge, I thought it didn't idle halfway hard. This is just right!

Lol...sorry Vince. We went out and tried it out on the highway. It really feels like it picked up some good power after 5500rpm. As we went on our testdrive we found a good test race for the cam. Looked like a new cobra with a supercharger on it. We stomped him pretty good from a roll. Guy was a poor sport after loosing. Just shook his head and wouldn't even look over. I was gonna give him the thumbs up.

Just a little something I noticed. I have kept up with a bunch of guys who left their B1's for something bigger, and didn't gain much if anything at all. Fireball(Brian) only ran 1 mph quicker I believe when swapping over to his 229 cam. Nick, you only dyno'd 415ish? rwhp with heads, when you did 40x with the cam alone. Mark, you're doing 435 rwhp and trapping 122+ mph. I don't see much more than 1 mph and 10 rwhp coming from something bigger on a stock shortblock. I personally don't see to much to be gained. I am definately not trying to be on the negative side, but I think the B1 is a LOT more efficient than some make it out to be. Maybe you'll prove me wrong, we'll see <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Damian I agree that the B1 and the T1 is still one of the best cams out there... It is still good to see comparisons.. I didn't gain much from my head swap either, but I also do not have as much on my car as the other guys.. No cutout, no ram air, no maf ends, my tuning is still off, heavy azz flywheel for longevity, no carbon fiber drive shaft, no shortbelt, supposedly I could do better with longtubes, etc.. Raging Motorsports is just giving us a taste of what you could get if you went from B1 to Raging Motorsports 230 cam.. I am still up.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Josh, if I gain 10 hp that would be awesome that would make me happy. I know there is not a whole lot to be gained but I really would like to get 10's NA this fall so I need 10hp, loose 100lbs, and loose about .10 off my 60 foot time to do it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
