408 Is In!!!!
I have one thing to say about the guys at Texas Speed and Performance. These guys were very great to deal with. Everything went great I arrived late Thursday evening and the process began Friday morning at about 0900 and by 3pm the old motor was out and the new one was stuck over in the car by 6pm and we left it at that. Saturday started out at about 10am and by 3pm the car was back completely together ready to be started.
We drove the car around just a little doing some base tuning and was able to take it out Saturday night to get some attention.
Most all of the day Sunday and today were spent making the trip back home.
As far as the guys that made all of this possible they could have not done any better.
Trevor thanks for all of your input and putting up with me for the last several months on the phone. I hate that you had to move this weekend and I didn't get to meet you until it was time for me to leave.
Jason I enjoyed my stay there and I appreciate all of the hard work that has been put into giving me what I wanted. (I'm waiting on that sticker and my pictures )
Joseph....what can I say I know that the business will go far with ya'll together. You truly did what I thought would be a long drawn out process in about 12 hours or so.
If any of you have a chance to deal with these guys in the future, they come very highly recommended from me especially. I will definitely be calling them if I need any parts in the future. Cheers guys and thanks.
I will post more info on the motor when I get it tuned in a couple of weeks.
The motor has a .240/.240 @ .608/.608 XE-R lobed comp cams and it has MTI stage III LS6 heads which are awesome. Intake valves are 2.08 and exhaust 1.60. The heads flowed 321 intake at .600 lift and 227 exhaust, so we have very high hopes for this motor.
I'll definitely keep everyone posted as soon as I get some dyno numbers. Hoping for 500.

Here's a few sound clips, Chad was about to back up over me!
408 Camming a little
If you ever make it back down we'll hit up the street races again, lol
Thanks for the kind words, I had fun doing 7000 rpm clutch dumps and racing a few sportbikes up to 160mph in your WS6 with the new motor

That's what I thought. lol

Just kidding man. I appreciate the sound clip there but it loads really slow even on my highspeed connection. Sounds good too. I didn't see that car move towards you even once while you were taking that clip.
I'm working on arrangements as we speak for some tuning to be done. I cant wait to go
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
IMO, the iron-block setups are hard to beat. You may gain some weight, but you also gain a LOT of reliability and keep some money in your pocket to boot. Let's not forget the added strength for when the nitrous bug hits you. hehe
Some of the highlights of Chad's 408 cid LS1 includes
*6.0L cast-iron block
*complete Lunati rotating assembly
*custom-grind TSP 240R camshaft for the larger strokers
*TSP/MTI stage III LS6 cylinder heads with 2.08"/1.60" Ferrea valves
*Rollmaster double-roller timing set
*LS6 intake manifold
*Crane hydraulic roller lifters
When I asked Chad what his goals were with the new engine, he said he was looking for 500 RWHP and a 10-second N/A timeslip. That's what led us to the cam and heads of choice. We are also in the process of building a 396 cid LS1 iron-block for Jason's '99 C5 M6 that should be together in time for the Spring Break Shootout, so it will be great to see how well it does on and off the bottle. FYI, it will be running a 238R cam with stage III 6.0L truck heads and an offset ground stock crankshaft. We have some plans for this car.
Keep us posted on the number of kills Chad!
Trevor
I will definitely be ready to see the results so I can get it to the track and get some gears and hopefully some wheels in the air too...lol.
Oh yeah did I mention I want that 10 second slip?
