Re: 02 Z06 Camshaft??
Hi,
The '02 LS6 cam is 2.5 degrees retarded. Here are the specs:
2002 LS6
Dur @ 0.50: 204/218
LCA: 117.5
In CL 120 ATDC
IVO -18 BTDC
IVC 42 ABDC
EVO 44 BBDC
EVC -6 ATDC
Ex CL 115 BTDC
Adv/Ret -2.5
Overlap -24
One of the reasons ZO6's make good power with such small intake duration is because of the late intake closing. As a comparison, a Hammer cam with a 222 intake set at 4 degrees advance has an intake closing of 39 ABDC.
Good luck,
Steve

Y'might try calling a GM parts place: http://www.paceparts.com/store.asp Or, e-mailing GM.
Do you already have the '02 LS6 cam, or are ya shopping?

Re: 02 Z06 Camshaft??
Wow, thanks for the info! Who makes the hammer cam and what are its specs? And do you think it would yield better results than the 02 Z06 cam?
I already have Thunder's 224 114 cam waiting to be put in but I've been looking at others too...
Thanks again,
Kyle

Any idea how much hp that little Z06 cam can really support? I wonder what it would do with a set of ported LS6 heads? I find this cam amazing with only 204 intake duration that it cam make the same numbers (w/LS6 heads) much bigger cams make.
