It you don't mind changing heads then the 243 casting is a much improved casting over you 99 casting or 853 number.
Cam choice is all up to you. You have a number of options. It depends on if your A4 or M6, if your A4 do you plan on doing a stall? The LS6 head will make more power then the LS1 head. It will also raise the compression t about 10.5:1 which is about a half point increase. The design is superior and the head flows much better.
You would be better off having the head ported for some even greater power and maybe even milled a bit.
Just to give you a example of a stealthy combo though. We had a 224/220 58x/58x 116LSA cam with a LG LT headers and X pipe, stock Z06 catback, LS6 intake, stock TB with stock LS6 heads and a PP dual gold spring kit make 425 to the ground.
Stock driveability, and very imoressive results. That just goes to show the LS6 heads work very well.
