Head Gasket Options? What is everyone running for head gaskets?
I have a set of LS1's on it now, and it seems that I have a blown one with only 300 miles on them.
Here's my situation:

I know that LS6's are available, but, what about anyting better than that? Copper?

Re: Head Gasket Options? Hey Chris, you know Chris Mckinney? He can get you a direct hookup with the Cometic gaskets. I like copper myself.

Re: Head Gasket Options? Just as Dave said, the Cometic gaskets are holding up great! Well worth the money.
I would figure out why you are blowing head gaskets first. Are you running real lean? Was the deck/head resurfaced?

I think that the gasket was bad from the start. Its been 'smoking' since it first fired up.
It was running REALLY rich for the first ~250 miles.. so rich that you wouldn't DARE light a match within a mile of the car.
Yes, the heads were R&R'ed by GTP, and the deck was checked. Everything was done right.

How much are those gaskets? Where can I get them, or copper ones? Part numbers?

Re: Head Gasket Options? Chris, you can get the cometic gaskets for around 85.00 a piece. Just tell them your bore size and it's a done deal as they are custom made for each set up. They might already have a set for stock bores on the shelf... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
