To name a few things you will need new rocker arms something like T&D for 800 bucks, you will need valve cover spacers for 350 bucks, you will need longer truck plug wires dont know the price, you will need new lifters 200 bucks at least but I think 300,you will need a cam thats 400,you will need your heads to be machined for the new rocker arms and dual springs dont know the price on that. Those are justsome things oh and a double roller chain as well. There is more I beleive ask Jason99ta he had that setup. You can go to thunder racing and check out his setup.

The total is around 3k or so. I was just reading about it in one of my old GM High Tech mags but I don't have it on my to post the exact numbers.

For a solid conversion you would need:
-Adjustable rockers
-solid lifters
-v\cover spacers or aftermarket covers
-cam
-shorter pushrods
-longer plug wires
approx $1860.00

For the heads:
-fitting of larger dia. springs
-fitting of rockers to heads
-correct spring and retainers
approx $375.00

Plus labor to R&R heads and intall partsE-mail if you have any other questions.

All- I am seeing mention of valve cover spacers/aftermarket covers mentioned here. Is this because of the aftermarket rockers, or because of the kind of lift that is usually associated with a solid roller??

In other words, could I run the Jesel Sportsman rockers under my stock valve covers w/ no spacers if I stay with a hydraulic cam??

Thanks.

Why do you need longer plug wires? Is that because you have to have taller valve covers and can not locate the coil packs in the same place. Also, what are the advantages of going with a solid roller setup? Would I want to do this on my daily driver that is raced once in a while? Thanks.

I just did this. You can go much more radical with a solid roller. You will have more lift and big rockers so you have to have bigger valve covers or spacers. Stock wires won't reach over the valve covers. I used MSD 8.5 universal and cut to fit. I took the coil plug ends off the stock wires and transfered them to the new ones. Located coils on top with 2 sheets of fabricated aluminum.
