When i get around to my rocker arm swap is it just a simple bolt and go or will i have to have new studs threaded in like on the older chevy stuff.

easy bolt on install, you just have to torque each rocker to 22lbs-ft when it is fully seated.

Are guide plate a must with aftermarket rockers? Are stock studs strong enough for a .570, .590 lift cam?

yeah the stock guide plate is fine, although someone posted earlier that LPE sells a steel one if you want a stronger one.

If you're installing aftermarket non-shaft mount rocker arms they came with guide plates so what do you mean by "rocker arm swap"? Are you installing non OEM type rockers or are you just replacing the stock ones with more of the same type?

who's rocker arms are they? they are differences between all manufactures. they are some, that bolt on and go(oem replacement type), or there are crane/comps that require additional parts if you don't have them already and require a lengthy adjustment procedure.
