Hey John
Could you give me some more specifics about the shift extension rpms on that PYE3600? I've got one waiting for my ARE 422 but, might get it reworked a little depending on where the rpms fall after the shifts.
Thanks

I have a Yank TP3600E.
It's too tight for all out drag racing but excellent for a street car. Rolls off a lite like stock, not obnoxious at all.
But it's dipping down to like 4500 on shifts. I can't have that.
For a 100% drag car I would go with a 5000 stall and shift it at 6600. That's what the stock eliminator guys tell me.
But I'd like to still drive the car on the street and in some traffic. So a 4500-4800 will be what I want after I swap the heads.
It's all in what you want.
I want a car I can drive cross country like I did when I raced at the GMHTP Nat's in 2000 in Bristol TN.
I can still pretty much drive my car across the country right now. I wouldn't try to drive to HRP and then race it unless I had a trailer my new 28x10 slicks are monsters and I could break something minor like a shock.
I want to put some streetability back into the car and hopefully still crank off some 10.5's.

Good luck John!
For all the raggin' I think your more time than money away from doing what you want.
A converter change and some more time getting what you have right will help you more than new toys on the car besides the converter.

I have maxed out the current setup... 120-121mph all day long at 3600 raceweight. It's very difficult to lighten the car now and keep streetability, I'll do the K member and arms and some other easy weight reduction but I have a 8 pt cage, iron block and a 9" and it all adds up.
I went 1.51 with a 3600 stall so I think I can go mid 1.4's with a 4600 all day long.

Good luck with the new set up John. With a little more tweeking (and a new converter ) you'll hit the 10's for sure.
Like I said, I still lurk the board for some excellent info and a few darn good laughs.

All ribbing aside, good luck and I hope you achieve your goals. I am curious as to what you would do if you spray the car, as for your 26 et streets try running them at 10psi doing a pro stock burn out and hammer it, I cut a 1.56 with my tank that way.

I sold my 26x11.5x15 ET Streets to a friend so I only have the 28x10.0x15 Hoosier slicks now. I will be clearancing tonite and as long as the car has no mechanical problems I will run 'er tomorrow at the MFBA US41 track rental (9-4pm).
Good luck on beating my old 382ci times this weekend. And, aren't you glad you didn't gamble with me at Bowling Green before the event?
By the way, my GMC has an iron block too, and its also SLOW.

Come on, my GMC isn't that fast. Your car should have no problem beating it.

Isn't John going for 10's, like a bolt-on car shooting for 12.0's??? Ask yourself....WHY? If I was you....I would pow-wow with Nick on a new combo. Don't go cheap, and throw some bottle on it and claim to have a 10sec street car...find out why you are running cam-only times first! Maybe you need to get in bed with Jayson at MTI...atleast his cars are going fast. But hey, what do I know...im not the Iron Block General

A lot of the big cube cars run 10.6-10.7 so I am behind them. Nick and I powwowed a number of times and really it's the compression and the heads that hold the car back from running like the other guys. I don't have any transmission or rearend problems, and my A/F and timing advance is dialed in with LS1 Edit. Got my shift points dialed in too, 6500 for both.
Good luck with the new combo PSJ! Good to see you out and running a few times this year.
