Is my bottom end in jeopardy?
I am planning on having my approx. 420rwhp 39k stock bottom ended motor sprayed with 150 shot or so - is this too much? I'll be shifting at around 6500-6600 rpm's.
Be careful with that one! Good friend of mine with virtually the same H/C package as my car toasted the #7 piston spraying a 150 dry shot and his motor only had 15k miles at the time. Car did run mid 10's at 128+ on ET streets and skinnies before it let go. The hypereutectic pistons in these motors don't take big shots shots of juice for very long. I would stick with a 100 shot until you forge the bottom end. HTH

I dont see how anyone could possibley believe that a dry shot, ESPECIALLY that LARGE, is safer than a wet. No offense. But really, there is a reason you hardly ever see anyone sprayin a dry shot over 100.
Oh boy this is going to turn into a dry vs. wet thread. Wet being more reliable then dry? thats rediculous.. That's a misconception by alot of people, the reason you see alot more people running wet is because its cheaper and you can set it up really easily, whereas on a dry shot you can't just slap it on there and spray it. On the dry, you just have to do more steps, you will spend more $$ for the fuel and set the tune correctly. I guarantee you there is alot more failures with the noids sticking on wet, what are you gonna say causes a failure with the dry system? the MAF? Thats stupid.

i say screw wet/dry go direct port!
once my car is tuned i should be making ~420rwhp and im going to be spraying 120 shot through an NXL. im just making sure i get every safety device i can get, and im upgrading my fuel pump/injectors.. most importantly getting it tuned!!!

Whatever dude. I aint hyjacking this dudes thread. Just bear in mind a MAF only has so much "adjustment" room.....proof evident in the fact that our cars are still in need of tunes after intake/exhaust mods in order to obtain equal A/Fs to what they were before. And thats only a 20hp difference. Do the math on 150...
