Cam and warrenty...

Cam and warrenty... I have a warrenty, i bought it from a seperate company after buying my car used. Its not a short term one either, so i'd really like to keep it from getting voided. I modded my exhaust (headers and stuff, but that isn't covered, so i'm safe on that)
I really wanna get a cam, and i was talking with someone, and they mentioned something interesting. What if it was a genuine GM part. First off, how much of a larger cam is, say, the Z06's? Are there any cam's made by GM that are larger? I guess it would be hard to prove that it wasn't stock, i could always just say that it might have been tossed in at the factory when low on LS1 cams. What do you suggest, i gotta keep the warrenty though. Should i just put it off untill i am out of the warrenty, or close to it?
I know no one can say for sure if it will be covered, but what in general have you found?
