Didn't know that you could get that...
Does someone make a solid (non-roller) lifter for the LS1?? For class racing here, there's a class that would fit in..
Cheers.

I was asked that earlier today but I was not sure that any of you guy's were actually using this type of lifter...So I guess its a no but if so then we might have someone to start making them for our ls1 application...

Are you talking flat tappet - if so, why? Roller solid lifters are superior for pretty much all aspects (lobe agressiveness, cam life, street longevity, etc.)
If you are talking the mushrom style lifter bottoms they are a race only application?

Yes, I was talking about them, is there a big difference and what about cost? Can the flat tappet lifters have the same variables as what you listed? How about a raduis composite lifter? Like this one?

Flat tappets are pretty much inferior to roller lifters in almost all ways - no reason to run a flat tappet.
The radius lifters are what I was calling mushroom lifters. They do allow for better high rpm use, but I would probably be tearing down the engine 2-3 times a year with a setup that required those. Unless you are turning much over 8000-8500 solid roller is the way to go.

Are you suggesting by that comment that a solid roller set up is not the way to go over 8000-8500 rpm's??

Doh, that read wrong. I meant I wouldn't even bother looking at the mushroom or other more exotic lifters unless I was turning a minimum of 8500.
