Longer runners are for _______ ans shorter runners are for ______?

Or, is it not that simple?

Ok, I was pretty sure someone was going to answer like that. Now, why do these high rpm intakes have long runners?

Those aren't long <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I'm in the middle of modding my holley for a short runner setup to go for more high RPM flow.

The stock manifold measures something like 12" or 13" plus the length of the port.

I've shortened my runners to about 9"

You will give up some lowend doing this, but i don't care <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I know there's stuff out there online about it, but all i've got is on paper. Guess you could hit the good old public library and do some digging on helmholtz tunning and manifold design <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
