772 retainers w/ 918's........Waste of money?
I have heard mixed opinions. I know the stock retainers are already pretty light, so there wouldn't be much to gain there. And judging from the last set of 918's I installed with stock retainers, they fit quite well. Are titanium really worth the extra $? I don't think so...

I have the Ti's, and I'm glad I do...I spin to 7000, and it makes me feel more comfortable doing it without the added weight of stock retainers.
Hold one of each in your hand and you'll see how much lighter they are...
To me, at my RPM level, they're worth it...

If you can afford the extra $$$ for the Ti retainers, I say it's a good idea. It certainly won't hurt to have them, and may be good for spring/valvetrain longevity since they are lighter than the stock retainers (although by how much I don't know).
If the budget is really stretched (like mine usually is), you'll probably be fine with the stockers, especially if you're planning to keep the RPM in the 6600 range.
