Default Jessel users..step in..problem

Ok the heads are LQ9. The Jessels are the J2K adjustable with a stock 1.7 ratio.
First problem. When installed the rear of the rocker hit the cylinder head wall. So I clearenced that, now it can move. How many with LQ9 heads have had this problem??

Second problem. I then put on the shaft and then th erockers. Tighted down they will not move at all. The rockers are hitting the shaft. There is no play for lash!!!! They seem to bind down and will not move back at all. I am thinking I need .030 more clearence!!

WTF. Never had a problem with their SBC setups.
On my Jessel shaft it says 1.5, but I briefly talked to a guy at Jessel and he said that was a number for them. Hmmm I am not sure. I do not think these should be binding like they are.
I guess I will call Jessel again and maybe send the kit back to them to check out.

anybody else???

It doesn't sound like you have LS1 jesels but instead sbc . The jesels I have are not all on one shaft, they are two per shaft and they bolt on at the same time. For what it is worth, when I ordered mine the first set I recieved was BBC jesels. .had to send them back.
ALERT!!!!! make sure you insure them, I sent mine back UPS and thought I had insured them but they wasn't and they was stolen from a ups tranfer station...the empty box was found. UPS would only pay out $100.oo
So to make a long aggravating story short I had to pay for another set...BTW I did not have to clearance the head only the baffles on the vavle cavers.

What rick said! The "1.5" on your rockers seems a little suspicious. I, too, had to remove the baffles and I had to clearance the top of the valvecover itself. The tops of a few of the rockers were hitting the valvecover and not letting the valves close all the way.

When using a set of these, you will have to clearence them from the back wall of the heads and you will have to either go with some spacers for valve cover clearence or buy a set of the C5R valve covers as I did...Mine look very nice mounted on the heads as GTP did a wonderful job setting them up!!!!

it is actually the stand that is giving me troubles. The rockers that are on their shafts are fine, but once te stand is bolted down to the head, the rockers get no play. The needle sits ontop, but I cannot pull the rocker backwards at all because it hits on the stand. I called Jessel again today and they were going to do a mock up. I told them I have LQ9 heads. On the stand itself it is flat and the rocker binds with it when tilted back. I was expecting more play. On a fiends 468 sbc with TD's he can twist the focker all the back about 70* or so. Hmmmmmm

THe Jessel J2K system cost about $950. THe valve covers I got are custom from Jay Fisher. They are billet aluminum and cost $500, but are the best looking covers I have senn. Much much better than Katechs or ARE's. I will have to notch them a lil though.

One more question. How tall are the spacers? I want to check and make sure they won't cause any interference problems with all the crap on top of a truck setup.
