I put my TR224 in and I have been gettin alot of Valvetrain noise.
I followed the Haynes manual and set my rocker torques at 22 ft/lbs at TDC. But, I heard that it should be set just after TDC on big cams due to overlap not bein the same. Is this true?
Did I screw it up? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
Also our valvetrain is self-adjusting right...once it is set I dont have to go back and recheck it do I?
Thanks guys. Stu

The stock LS1 rockers are not adjustable. The correct torque spec only ensures that they are correctly tightened down as to not work themselves loose. The only way to adjust the lifter preload is by a different length pushrod, or placing shims under the rocker pedestals.
If you do a search, you should be able to find some threads on lifter preload...
