Default best cam on ls6 springs?

I will be using stock ls6 heads on my car and while I am in there I am changing to mild cam.What can I run reliably on a stock ls6 spring?J

That is what I need to figure out.What are the limits of an ls6 spring before reliability is an issue.I want 405 fwhp but a mean idle a strong mid range.Thanks.J

Frankly i'd use something like the 918s or a stronger spring if you want a larger cam then something small or an ls6 cam.

As far as what's biggest safely I'm not sure, i'm sure some people have tried it out, most people rather buy springs and be sure though.

From what you want I'd say the GMPP's ASA cam would be your best choice.

I think the ls6 springs are good to like .550 lift. I actually could have used stock springs with my cam but chose the peace of mind and reliability of 918's. You are always money ahead doing it right the first time. Best rule of thumb for a cam swap.......cam, springs and hardened pushrods.

GM said the 2003 LS6 springs are good to .570 lift and will last 100K miles. They are made in Germany from the same hi-grade steel as used by Porsche.

LPE GT2-3 works fine with LS6 springs. I wouldn't go any more aggressive than that... and that cam isn't aggressive at all. But it makes nice power for a mild cam.

Thanks guys,I want to use the stock ls6 springs because my car is driven 50k a year and am not interested in changing springs twice a year and waiting for my car to fully warm up before reving it a little(I heard 918's need to be warm??)J
