JS your car is going to fly with that setup <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">
I am planning a similar setup but with Hookers
(1 3/4 headers, 3 inch int pipe 3.5 inch collector, 3.5 inch cutout back into 3 inch overaxle and bullet)
I am hoping to line up an all bore 382 with a 226/234 cam on at 112LSA and 590 lift with dual springs and 11.2:1 comp too. That is my dream <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">
With the 4.11's, spool and 4400 converter mid high tens should be cake <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">

I still can't decide. I wish I could go hear someone's car locally before I make my final decision. If someone could answer my previous question comparing the two lsa's, I might be closer to a decision. I'm torn. I also can't decide whether to go 222 or 224. Maybe the Hammer cam.... AAAAARRRRRRGGH! <img src="gr_eek2.gif" border="0">
Somebody decide for me!!

JS: Can you do that without fly cutting the pistons? Interesting coice of cam duration...hehe, that's exactly the duration that I used to run.

Those street tires won't grab at all with 420rwhp...IF you punch it you will be all over the place... <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">

I know what your going through it's a tuff decision 222, 224, B1, T1 or the <img src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" border="0" alt="[judgement]" /> (Hammer)are all very close but I think the final decision is really with driveability and not how tough it sounds, I've had plenty of cams that thump in my big blocks but these cars are really about being all around street cars. So I'm really leaning towards the <img src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" border="0" alt="[judgement]" /> (Hammer) for those reasons and after I heard a sound clip over on LS1info.com but it didn't say which LSA it was.

jmx: Please explain yourself. ARE is 3-4 weeks ARO for stage II heads. We just had a customer cancel his GTP order and ordered from us because GTP was backed up according to him, 3 months.
Attention to detail? Where did you ever pull this one from?

Re: Help me pick which heads/cam to get.
BIGBOS is right if you're makin' 420 rwhp, you'll be all over the place - unless you back pedal it out the hole and don't get into to it till the top of 2nd on street tires. <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[Burnout]" />
BTW, I'm the guy making 429 rwhp with the C1 cam on Campbell's dyno graph - in the earlier posts.

Leo you are on street tires right and a 3.42 gear??
As soon as you nailed it we could hear you breaking loose...imagine if you had a 4.10 gear <img src="gr_eek2.gif" border="0">

Re: Help me pick which heads/cam to get.
I'll throw my .02 in here.
I was kind of money conscience when I looked at my combo. What I found was that it makes just as much if not more hp than the high dollar stuff. It idles like a dream compared to many of those other lopey cams or even the LS1 hotcam.
I have the B1 spec Lunati cam and Stage 2 heads which are fitted with 2.02/1.60 ferrea valves, Isky springs, and titanium retainers all for less than $2400 including the pushrods. I will post the graph tonight. The numbers were 431rwhp and 405rwtq. 1/4 mile times in the sig. <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[Burnout]" />

I still don't understand. With a 2.055 valve, according to my math, you can only safely run a 0.560 cam on the intake side. With a 2.02 valve it's just a litte larger @ 0.570. 11.2 CR is going to require a good cut off the head surface, like 0.045. No way you can run that much lift without a fly cut. Correct me if I am wrong.

Re: Help me pick which heads/cam to get.
Smokin joe, that was mopst prob a 112 l/s you heard on the sound file. VERY few hammer cams out there on 114 l/s. I have two buds fixing to go to the hammer on a 114 but i have seen no sound files of them on the net.
Mikey. .560 is no where near the limit on lift before you run into valve/piston probs.
.590+ lifts have been run. It is a combo of lift, duration that will cause problems.
MANY folks have run 2.055 valves and .566 lift cams with ZERO valve/piston problems.
( I am very tired (massive O.T. at work) and hope my reply does not sound too "crabby" )
J Campbell
p.s., To the guys who have sent me email tech questions, i will be replying to them tonight at work, sorry for the wait)

Re: Help me pick which heads/cam to get.
My B1 sounds pretty mean to me, but then again i'm running mac headers & o/r pipe and cutout. When capped it's going through a flowmaster anyway, so as stated it still is noticable. Nobody mistakes my car for stock. I will admit though some days i wish i had a stock dual/dual on there again, cause this loud business gets old sometimes!
