Default Is Balancer keyed??????????? Help fast

Is there any special way to put it on there i cant find anything but the book says i have to put it on with the key in the right place?

What book? The LS1 crank has no keyway. The LS1 crank pulley has no key....

that is what i thought how does the motor know when to fire?

The balancer just drives accessories, power steering, alternator, waterpump and AC. The firing is done off the timing chain set dot to dot in most cases. More advanced cases you degree the cam into place with an adjustable timing set instead.

Specifically, the motor "knows" when to fire because the cam position sensor and crank position sensor tell the PCM of their relationship to each other.

When specific programming is introduced, the spark events may be *mildly* altered, but that is all. The relationship between cam & crank is set by the T-chain.
