I will be receiving a pair of LS1 heads to work for a friend of mine and Ive heard the the seats are extremely small. Will a 2.02 in and 1.60 ex fit on the stock seats or will they need to be replaced with larger seats ? and Ive noticed that they have cone topped valve springs with small diameter retainers, are these there to clear the stock rocker arms or can a std 1.25 springs and retainers be used with out interference ? Thanks for your help guys.

Dunno if the seats can be milled up to accept the bigger valves, but stock spring width is approx 1.25.
The stock springs are "beehive" style. I don't know the reason why beehive (conical) instead of cylindrical. As long as the "standard" springs yer planning on using can handle the lift & ramp rates (may need to shim) they should be okay. Comp's -941's are cylindrical and lotsa fellers have used them...

I have 2.02 and 1.575 valves and stock seats--no issues.
I think 2.05 intake and above require replacements...
you should still check on the 1.60 exhaust, though--dunno on that one...
