I have the stock GM MLS gaskets with my 5.3's. TSP even asked me which gaskets I wanted and foolishly not knowing I opted for the graphites. The shop recommended I use the MLS one and I told them to contact TSP because of the very same comment you posted and they said either was fine.
For your own peice of mind though just call them and ask.
