853 vs. 241 heads
I am about to swap out my stock 241 heads off my '04 LS1 GTO for some Stage 2E ported heads from MTI, casting #853. These heads flow avg 294 @.600 for the intake and 208 @.600 for the exhaust.
Since this seems like going backwards (from the 241 heads), any good argument why I shouldn't do it or is there differences I have not accounted for? Is the later manufactured heads any different?
Funny part is one head is notched, the other aint. Now I need a pair of mixed head gaskets.
Sorry. Don't have anything constructive to add.

. I also noticed that you are at fort belvoir which is right around the corner from where im at Either way, you can run notched gaskets on un-notched heads.
