Questions breaking in cam?
I just put my 262CompXE cam and we left at 2000 rpm for about 15 minutes. I was wondering how long does it take to break it in so that way I get on it. I even drove around town for about 45 minutes, Is this enough time?
Assuming this is in an LS1, there was no need to keep the rev's raised for 15 minutes. Its a roller cam. There is no breakin. You put it in, and drive on it. The valve springs are all that need a heat cycle or two.
Nope. Sorry this is an 82 Firebird w/ 79 350, intake, carb, headers, and now a cam. Thanks for helping. Now all I need is to advance the timing to the right degree.
