Default Is it worth $300?

I am considering getting my heads ported and polished and I was wondering how much power can I expect? I have a comp 212/218 cam installed already. I can get it done for $300 dollars from a buddy of a buddy. $300 worth it? Thank you for you replies and opinions.
P.S. They are 5.3 heads.

To answer your question it depends on if they know what they are doing.300 bucks is a good price though.

Yes he knows what he is doing. He has done at least 2 dozen LS1 and LS6 heads. He normally ports them for more money (he makes a living doing it) but he will do it on the side for a favor.

What compression ratio are getting, and what do you have now?

I have a 2002 truck with a 5.3. It has a Comp 212/218 cam. I will cut the heads 20 thou to up the compression. I will install the heads myself.
