Default LS6 Head Question..Search doesnt work for me be fair...

ok so i tried searching and its not working for me...so im sorry i havent gotten to look this up or i wouldnt write it but is it ok to have the LS6 243's on my car with stock headers and y pipe? it isnt perminent...but i was going to get the heads first...so should i just finish out the exhaust system first or jut go ahead and get the LS6 Heads?...any and all suggestions are welcome...thanks!

you can but you will benefit more if you already have long tubes and a free flowing exhaust, do you also have a LS6 intake manifold?? the LS1 will hold you back aswell if you run LS6 heads.

so im guessing go with the exhaust first? and get heads later?

If you are getting a killer deal on the heads I would get them first. It wont hurt anything to run them with the stock exhaust.

Stock LS6 heads are worthless to swap unless they're fully ported. Do you really want to do ALL that work to gain 10 HP? Because seriously, that is ALL stock LS6 heads will give you.

I wouldn't say that at all. I have seen cars put down 420 to 440 rwhp with bone stock LS6's cam-only. They flow great, dont believe the hype. Everyone always wants a dyno queen. The **** works, look at how well the 02-04 Zo6's run. Just my .02
