Default LS1s and Oil related problems

I have gone thru 2 LS1 motors in the last 6 months my original motor and a GM LS1 corvette crate motor. Both engines ran great with usually 60 to 80 psi of oil pressure. Both motors spun rod bearings. Both motors were built by the GM factory and did not turned over 6500 rpm at the dragstrip. Now for my question. I use to run Big Block chevys,396s,402s,and 427s and they had one problem with all of them.If you ran it at the dragstrip you had to go to a 9 or 12 quart oil or you would pump all your oil up into the top of the motor and starve your crankshaft with the usual results. Spun bearings. Could the LS1s have the same problem? I have never seen a deep oil pan that would fit in my Camaro. Do I need to go to an oil cooler to pickup more capacity?

What was the oil level at when you spun the bearings? Some people never check their oil, then go race it, and end up spinning a bearing because they don't have enough oil in their motor. Not only that but some motors burn more oil then others depending on different things. It's a good idea to run at least 6 qts of oil in these cars, especially if you race it alot. Some people that do autocross and road racing run as much as 6.5-7.0 qts. And keep in mind after looking at these pictures, the oil in your oil filter and that there's also going to be oil in the top of your motor circulating around.

5 qts

5 qts tilted

6 qts

7 qts

A picture tells the tale for sure but don't you run into trouble with blown seals. I always thought over filling was as bad idea.
