Need help
<img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> I just installed my CompXE262H and springs, and new timing chain in my 350 camaro motor. Instead of my performer intake I went ahead and swapped it for a performer rpm. It is running ok but i can not get timing advance to where it was before. It aslo starts sputtering with the air cleaner on. When I take it off it runs a little better. Why is this? It does not pull as much as it used to. I had the performer with a carb spacer, 215/60R14 on the rear, holley 600 vacumm secondaries, and MSD 6AL. Every now and then when I try to roll of the line it boggs. I now have the Rpm intake with the 600 carb and 255/50R15 on the rear. The cam rpm is 1300-5600. Could i be lackking gear now? Some please help trying to get it fixed befor this weekend if it is not to major.
cam installed strait up? degreed in? valve lash adjusted properly? check manifold vacuum at idle. air cleaner is choking carb. is air filter one of those 1 inch thick jobbies? i know perf. rpm no room under hood. get a k&n air filter lid helps alot. just make sure you're holley's sound i.e. power valve and keep tuning carb & timing from there. good luck
Well we tested again last night. I put the air cleaner on it is 1in high and 14in wide. It ran pretty good but what we think is htat the 15in. rims and higher taller tires are what are slowing me down off the line. I had 14in rims with some smaller tires and I nknow that are smaller tires make a car react if i had deeper gears. I am not sure where the cam is a friend installed it. The thing that change is on the TDC and distributor. It was the second point before we installed the cam. Now it is the first point on the distributor.
