Default Mixed Rocker Arm Ratios

I was reading an article on various SBC motors and noiticed several of them where running with mixed rocker arm ratios; 1.6 Intake and 1.5 Exhaust. I was wondering if there is any reason that this idea could not be applied to LS1 heads? Like using Crane Cams 1.8 arms for the intake valves and 1.7 for the exhaust valves.

yea u can use up to the slp 1.85 rockers wherever you want, you just have to know what your restriction is.. but why not just put em all on? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

any rocker multiplier can be duplicated in cam profile, so for the price of those rockers, i'd just get a cam and at least 2-3x the hp increase.

For cams that have the same lift for exhaust and intake, you could change the lift by changing the rocker arm ratio. I have heard that with nitrous applications, more exhaust lift than intake makes a good setup.

The problems are clearance and expense. It is much more cost effective to purchase and install a new cam with the desired characteristics than to purchase and install the new rockers.

Wouldnt even bother.Just get the cam ground to your desired specs. It will save a lot of time and money.
