EGR removal
Then it occured to me. The LS6 and 2000+ F bodies all have a different cam that eliminates the need for the EGR and allows use of the LS6 intake.
Since I have to replace the oil pump, I may as well do a cam since I'm RIGHT there.
My question is:
Do any of the after market cams offer enough overlap to remove EGR safely?
Where I'm going with this is:
Can I put in a TR224/112 and just block off the EGR at my 99' intake? Obviously I'll throw a code and all ( which I can delete with LS1Edit ).
Finally, emissions. Is it that the the inspectors NEED to see the EGR stuff for a 99' vehicle. In other words do they know 2000+ have no EGR?
Thoughts?

bottom line, get a cam (not new stock style, they are smaller and a waste of time) and get the ls6 intake, and remove the egr and air codes and fuggedaboutit
I hate smog laws.. what should matter is if you pass the sniffer.. not how much crap you have bolted on the engine.
Just deleted my EGR <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
If the 2002 LS1 cam doesn't need the EGR due to their design, isn't there a cam out there from a vendor that can do the same safely and for emmissions?
I'm lucky; in Ohio it's a sniffer tailpipe test only, they don't pop the hood.
So get yourself a nice cam not something you'll regret. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
